A “Thank You Jesus” Poem for Easter
This Easter, I wanted to share something personal—a thank you poem to Jesus, written as a letter to God. It’s my way of saying, simply and truly: Thank you, Jesus.
He was with me
in a childhood marked by pain.
Faithful
through the chaos of a rocky,
turbulent youth.
He stayed close
even when I walked away.
When I returned to school
after my divorce,
He was my only companion.
He gave me strength.
He provided.
When my husband died,
He held me close.
When my dear, sweet Charlie passed,
He carried me.
Through my stubbornness,
my anger,
my hardness of heart—
He never let go.
He has planted my feet
on solid ground.
He has been
my one constant.
My truest friend.
I rarely say it. I don’t say it enough…
Thank you, Jesus,
for living
and loving me
every step of the way.
If you’ve ever walked through grief, healing, or renewal, maybe this thank you Jesus poem speaks to you too. I hope it reminds you that you are never alone.
This is part of my Letters to God series. You can learn more about my journey here.
This Poem is inspired by the constant love and presence of God, as described in Isaiah 41:10, on the Bible Gateway.
