Conversational English

Connection Through Conversation

Language has become a meaningful part of my life — not just through teaching, but through the connections and conversations it has brought into my world.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with people from many different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. Through those experiences, I’ve realized that language is about so much more than grammar rules or perfect sentences. At its heart, language is about connection — feeling understood, expressing yourself clearly, and building confidence in everyday life.

Some of those connections have extended far beyond the classroom and become meaningful parts of my own journey, including the opportunity to meet two of my longtime students during a recent visit to New York.

My approach focuses on real-life communication and conversational English. I believe people learn best when they are engaged in meaningful discussion, talking about topics that genuinely interest them and connect to their own experiences.

Some of my lessons focus on conversation and fluency. Others may include vocabulary, listening, speaking support, or small grammar lessons woven naturally into discussion. But the goal is always the same: to help you communicate more comfortably, naturally, and confidently in your own way.

My own experience learning Spanish deepened my understanding of what it feels like to learn another language as an adult. During a three-month stay in Mexico, I experienced both the challenges and the joy that come with trying to communicate in a new language and culture. That experience gave me a greater sense of empathy, patience, and appreciation for the language-learning journey.

A Little Bit More About Me

I have spent more than 25 years working in education, including special education, social studies, and English language learning. Over time, my focus naturally shifted toward helping people use English in real, everyday situations — building confidence, clarity, and stronger communication skills through conversation and connection.
